In June 2019, the issue of disruptive air passengers resurfaced, with 4 members of a stag party bound for Las Vegas receiving significant custodial sentences for conduct that resulted in an aircraft diverting to Winnipeg to seek police assistance. Disruptive passengers are hardly a new phenomenon. However, in recent years, the number of incidents of disruptive passengers, particularly involving alcohol, has increased considerably.
